Red acre kennels is a family run business, we specialise in breeding healthy Labrador. Labradors are one of the most amazing breeds out there, they are very intelligent, friendly and just great with our 4 children and living in a family home. As long as you put the time and effort in to the dog you will get an amazing friend!
We have been breeding for 13years and have been awarded a 5 Stars licence 22/00177/ANIMAL from our East Cambridgeshire district council.
We try to make sure all our parents to the puppies are hip and elbow scored, eye tested and we also do all the DNA testing that the Kennel Club recommend of PRA, EIC, CNM, HNPK and SD2. We also do a few more so we know that are puppies are as good as they can be. All of our Stud Dogs are Clear of the dieases, so this means puppies can never get the diseases and now in the process of doing all our ladies, so puppies will be genetically clear.
Our puppies are born in our whelping kennel, they stay there with mum and bond with her, at about 3/4weeks we bring them into our home and they get used to our children and all house hold noises, they then go to our puppy play room from 7weeks old, we rotate our litters to ensure they are well socialised if we have more than one litter at a time. This has work well for us over the last 10 plus years, we have an outside grassed play area for the pups, with lots of colourful toys to help with there sensory, snuffle mats, different textured toys - weather permitting they have 3/4days a week in here for up to 2-3hours a day.
Our children are very hands on with our puppies and love helping me (a bit to much) they help with the puppy weighing and puppy photo updates. BUT most of all they just enjoy cuddling them.
We do our viewings in our homely office - which we adapted since covid to be able to welcome you. We are by appointment only after asking our questions to ensure you are a suitable home for our puppies.
